Tile Combos We’re Loving for the Colorful Cabinet Trend in 2022

SHARE

Although 2021 and the year prior have brought unprecedented times, there is one thing for certain: color is making a comeback. An all-white kitchen will always be in style; however, in 2022, we are seeing a trend of those bringing personal expression and individualism within the home. As a result, homeowners and designers looking to spice things up are turning to colored cabinetry.

Trending to the cooler side of the spectrum, blue and green kitchen cabinets seem to be in vogue. From coastal to stately, navy blues, and greens varying from lagoon to sage, the variations of these timeless shades can appeal to almost any design personality.

Now the question stands – how does this affect the backsplash? Whether you choose to use this trend in a kitchen, bar, or bathroom, read on for some of our favorite tile solutions to pair with colored cabinets.

Shine with Metallics

If you’re looking to make a statement, nothing amps up the drama faster than pairing your blue or green cabinets with the sheen of metallic tile. Choose from the extensive profiles of our Luminous collection, showcasing gold or silver foil accents, or incorporate the brass and stainless-steel options within our Ethereal collection. Using metallics is the perfect way to add a punch of visual impact, while tying in metal hardware, creating a seamless space dripping with glamour.

Make it Monochrome

Simultaneously timeless and trendy, a monochromatic color scheme is one of our favorite ways to incorporate tile with colored cabinets. A rule of thumb, stick with the same color in slightly different tones. Using the same palette, texture and pattern is key in drawing interest and will avoid your space from looking flat. The combed and sandblasted finish in Pose Plia Turkish Gray is a perfect way to integrate texture or draw inspiration from the Moroccan-inspired pattern of Essence Whimsy.

Using Marble as a Neutral

When in doubt, you can never go wrong with marble. Exuding luxury while elevating the value of your home, marble can also be understated, handing the spotlight over to a bolder cabinet color. Try using a marble with subtle veining and a less contrast in the stone such as Carrara or White Haze.
